As the calendar turns to the exciting month of May in Indiana, Noblesville Parks has lined up a series of free family-friendly events to get residents and guests outdoors throughout the month.

“The Noblesville Parks Department is enthusiastic to kick off our events season with a variety of special events in addition to the normal amenities that we offer,” said Noblesville Assistant Parks Director Mike Hoffmeister. “The extended winter weather this year has kept us inside long enough and we know that people are looking for ways to be active and enjoy the outdoors.”

Friday, May 4 – Wine Down with Art at Federal Hill Commons’ Market Plaza from 7 to 9 p.m. The new evening event includes food trucks and wineries allowing patrons to enjoy dinner in the park while viewing artwork from local artists. The event is free to attend and food and beverages will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome. Wine Down with Art also will be held on July 6 and September 7.

Saturday, May 5 – Noblesville Main Street’s Farmers Market opens its 2018 season at Federal Hill Commons. The market runs weekly at the Market Plaza from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays until October 13.

Saturday, May 5 – Residents and guests are invited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the City of Noblesville at the second Salsa for Salsa event. From 6 to 9 p.m. at Federal Hill Commons, the free event includes salsa dancers, food vendors, salsa dance lessons, a Salsa band, margarita garden – and of course, salsa taste testing. Bags of chips to taste salsa will be available for $2.

Friday, May 11 and 25 – Food Truck Fridays return to Federal Hill Commons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May through September on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. The lunchtime event includes five to seven food trucks providing specialty meals and desserts with live acoustic music from Craig Thurston. Hamilton County Chiropractic will be onsite providing free chair massages for patrons as they relax and enjoy time in the park.

Saturday, May 19 – The Concerts at the Commons series, presented by Myers Construction Management, Inc., will kick off with Rod Tuffcurls + The Benchpress. Opening band, Ripple Effect, takes the stage at 7 p.m. From Chicago, Rod Tuffcurls + The Bench Press combine excellent musicianship, bone-crushing three-part vocal harmonies, and a contagious stage energy that will keep you dancing to hits ranging from Hall & Oates to Taylor Swift, Queen to The Beatles, and Wilson Phillips to Elton John.  The concert is free to attend and food and beverages will be available to purchase.

Thursday, May 31 – Noblesville’s Summer Concert series at Dillon Park kicks off with the Big 80’s Band at 7 p.m. The free Thursday night concerts at the Dillon Park events lawn will take place weekly from 7 to 9 p.m. until July 5, before switching to Forest Park.
