Child Safety Seat Program

The Noblesville Police Department has several officers that are trained as Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians. Citizens can schedule an appointment to have one of these officers demonstrate the proper procedure for installing and removing a child passenger safety seat from their vehicle(s). The sole purpose of this program is to help reduce the incidences of improper installation of these child safety seats. The officers will demonstrate the proper procedure for installation based upon the child safety seat instructions and the instructions from the vehicle's owner's manual. Once the officer has completed this demonstration, the officer will then remove the child safety seat and have the citizen reinstall it. This serves to educate the citizen as opposed to simply having the officer complete the installation themselves.

Inspections are done by appointment and generally take about an hour and are typically done at the Noblesville Police Department (135 S 9th St)  The purpose of an inspection is to teach parents, grandparents and other caregivers the proper way to install child safety seats.  Because vehicle styles and child safety seats differ, various approved methods of installation are used.  There is no cost for an inspection.  Please complete this on-line form to make your appointment.
