Trash Fee Ordinance Information

The trash fee ordinance was introduced at the January 12 Common Council meeting. A public hearing took place at the Tuesday, January 26 council meeting (7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall). The proposed change in the trash ordinance also was discussed at the January 23 council retreat. The Common Council approved the trash ordinance change on Jan. 26 by a 6-3 vote. The new ordinance begins on June 1, 2016  (payable after July 1st). The trash fee ordinance includes a $10.57 per residence monthly charge. The average trash fee for Hamilton County is around $12.50.
