Mayor Ditslear

Mayor John Ditslear was elected to his first four-year term in November 2003.  He was re-elected for his fourth consecutive four-year term in November 2015.

Mayor Ditslear has been a Noblesville resident for almost 50 years.  A graduate of Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, Ditslear is a veteran of the United Stated Navy and worked in the insurance industry here in Noblesville prior to be elected as mayor.  He is no stranger to serving his community.  Ditslear was elected to three terms on the Noblesville School Board, and also served as a board member for several organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club, the Riverview Hospital Foundation, the Hamilton East Public Library, and United Way of Hamilton County – to name a few.

As mayor, Ditslear led the addition of several quality of life initiatives within the city including Hamilton Town Center and the conservation of green space.  The city expanded its trails system and added Dr. James A. Dillon Park, Federal Hill Commons and purchased 200 acres for Finch Creek Park.  Ditslear oversaw the improvement and expansion of roadways throughout the city including the introduction of roundabout intersections and the construction of 146th Street across Noblesville.
