The Noblesville Police Department is seeking qualified applicants who can serve the city in that capacity. Upon being hired, a recruit officer will be required to successfully complete the 16-week Basic Law Enforcement Officer Course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Plainfield, Indiana. The academy experience provides recruits with extensive education, training and skills necessary to excel in your role as a Noblesville Police Officer. Once completed, the recruit officer will then return to the Noblesville Police Department where he/she will then complete a 14-week Field Training and Evaluation Program. During this portion of training, the recruit will be assigned to several different experienced Field Training Officers and a variety of shifts. The recruit will work and train under the watchful eye of the Field Training Officer who will facilitate the recruit with the additional knowledge, training and skills he/she learned at the academy. The recruit will be evaluated on a daily basis and given constant feedback on ways in which to improve performance in preparation for release to solo-patrol status at the conclusion of the Field Training and Evaluation Program.
Upon successful completion of the Field Training and Evaluation Program, the recruit will be assigned to the Patrol Operations Division where he/she will perform various patrol functions. These will include responding to calls for service, enforcement of laws, apprehension of violators, investigating crimes, traffic enforcement, resolution of family disturbances and accident investigation to name a few. All officers are also expected to be proactive and solve problems as needed in their assigned area.
