Reconstruction of approximately 2.14 miles of Hazel Dell Road from Midland Ln./Noble Crossing Pky. to SR32 as a four-lane divided roadway with center median, curb and gutter, and multi-use trail on both sides. This segment includes one 3-sided bridge structure over Kirkendall Creek and a roundabout at 161st Street. This will tie into the intersection improvements at State Road 32 that aligned Little Chicago Road with Hazel Dell Road.
Reconstruct approximately 0.35 miles of 156th Street as a 2-lane road at the intersection of Hazel Dell Road, with a new bridge structure over Kirkendall Creek and improving the roadway alignment of the existing reverse curve. Reconstruct approximately 0.25 miles of 161st Street as a 2-lane road at the intersection of Hazel Dell Road. Reconstruct approximately 0.23 miles of 169th Street as a 2-lane road at the intersection of Hazel Dell Road. Reconstruct approximately 0.66 miles of the AJ Brock Drain, including storm sewer and open channel grading.
CONSTRUCTION
September 4, 2007 (anticipated, pending weather) - The contactor will be focusing construction efforts on Hazel Dell Road from just north of Midland Ln/Noble Crossing Pky to just north of 161st Street, which includes the bridge over Kirkendall Creek and the roundabout at 161st Street. Please note that the contractor and utilities will be working within the entire project's limits throughout the duration of the project. Construction of bridge and roundabout will require a 3 month closure between 146th Street and SR32.
December 7, 2007 - Hazel Dell Road between 146th Street and SR32 was opened to two way traffic after 3 month closure. Construction activities, sewer installation and rough grading, will be ongoing within the project limits during the winter months.
