Mary Sue Rowland

Mary Sue Rowland began her third term on the Noblesville Common Council in January 2016. Rowland previously served on the council from 2004 to 2012. Rowland previously served as Noblesville’s mayor from 1988 to 1996. During her time as mayor, Rowland improved the city park facilities, led the restoration of downtown and implemented a new sewage treatment plant. She created the Arts Commission and Shakespeare in the Park. Rowland was responsible for the Logan Street extension from Indiana 19 to River Avenue and restored the former post office into the new Public Safety Building.

Rowland graduated from Noblesville High School in 1959 and attended Ball State University. She helped to start the family printing business (Rowland Printing) in downtown Noblesville in 1973, along with a travel agency, both are still operating today. She was given a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Evan Bayh.

Family: Husband, Ted; sons, Dane and Dean; and grandchildren: Vincent and Vivian Rowland.

As an At Large official, Rowland represents all of Noblesville and its voters in city limits and Noblesville Township.
