Roy Johnson began serving his third term on the Noblesville Common Council in January 2016. Johnson previously served as council president in 2010 and 2013.

Johnson has been involved in multiple locally-based corporations. He was Co-Owner/Vice President of HomeTown Television Corporation/HomeTown Sports Productions and was the host of numerous television shows on HomeTown Television. He was Co-Owner/Business Manager of Indiana Automation, Inc./Integrator.com.
